The citizens of America (those who have their eyes open anyway) have long been suffering a campaign of Shock and Awe. From a President appointed by the Supreme Court, to 9-11, to endless war, lies, and loss of liberty, the sacrifice of a great American city and its most vulnerable citizens for no greater purpose then to drive up the per barrel price of crude, these are all things that no right (or left) thinking American can imagine occuring.

They have happened.

America is being destroyed. Not by terrorists because we all know that no external force has ever had a chance of destroying this nation. The terrorists hijacked planes, killed people, destroyed buildings. These are terrible things but what is worse is that another group of terrorists used our grief and fed our fear to destroy the very things for which America stands.

Shock and Awe.

For so long many of us have watched and thought, " This can't be happening, someone will stop them. " It is happening America is being destroyed and the only someone who can stop it are the ones sitting there listening and watching in stunned terror. I have been one of these people. I have sat by waiting for someone to save us, when we have to save ourselves. I have awoken since the twenty O four election fraud, slowly accepting that the nightmare is real. I have since taken to keeping an eye on the newspaper and an ear to KPOJ (the Portland Or, area's Air America affliate) and in recent months I have created and actively promoted the Volunteer Urban Cavalry. It is a non-violent militia whose purpose started as a responce to a city I once called home being left to rot so those with money in the oil speculation market could reap a big fat dividend. It has become a force with which to express the outrage at so many issues. So far I am still the sole member, but I am redoubleing my efforts to draw in the mulitudes who feel as I do and have the commitment to to act.

Non-violent Militia.

He was a bad actor, snitched for the House Un-American Activities Committee, he shilled for General Electric, and then represented the reactionary forces in the 60's that saw an opening to role back the New Deal and the Great Society as well as the gains of the individualist movements (free speech, civil rights, black power, gay rights, feminism, etc..) of the latter part of the 20th century. He did this by appealing to the American people's worst values; mysticism, selfishness, racism, and extreme nationalism. His was a slick George Wallace, a right wing populist sans the OVERT racism. But we all knew what he was talking about when he talked about "welfare queens," crime and lawlessness. He and Mike Deaver understood that the white ethnics and southerners who were the backbone of the New Deal/Democratic coalition could be split off from blacks and Jews and their labor allies by talking about social issues and taxes. It worked, particularly in the areas of the country where the industrial economy was in decline. Thus the creation of the Reagan Democrat. In the south the process was already underway when the Democratic Party embraced civil rights.

Internationally he allied himself with the most right wing reactionary killers in the world. In Southern Africa they allied with apartheid supporters, supported the prolonged imprisonment of Nelson Mandela, and funded the UNITA killers in Angola. In Mozambique the RENAMO forces that Reagan funded at the time were known to be the most vicious killers in the world. Funded by the US and South Africa their main goal was to terrorize the entire Mozambique population because they had chosen independence and a left wing government.

Janeane, I'm old school, raised in the inner city and my name for the what some are calling "hookergate" is straight-up "HOEGATE" for those republican leaders, appointees and their familars who are involved! Let's call it what it is . . . HOEGATE cuz everyone of them who participated are nothing more than "hoes" for corporate lobbyists and their ilk!

DreamWorks has given Red Hour partners Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld a three-year renewal on their first-look deal. As part of this DreamWorks is going ahead with Tropic Thunder as the next film Stiller potentially directs and toplines.
