Celebrities are told to shut up ONLY because the right wants them to shut up.
How many people would show up for a political fudraiser if George Clooney was hosting it? Or Jon Stewart? Or Janeane Garafolo? Or Sean Penn? Or Susan Surandon? Or Suzanne Somers for that matter! People love celebrities, and whether you feel that is a useful love or not, it is a reality, and it could open the doors for the left to be heard.

They're still emotionally disturbed losers with lingering self-esteem traumas, and they still want to tear down the "popular kid" celebrities.

The Corvair's main danger was the lack of a front engine. So if the car hit a tree, for example, head on. The front would crush in and the hood would detach and slide through the windshield and decapitate the front passengers.

Fuck you world. We laugh at your war dead, peasants, we laugh at everything, because we're rich and totally isolated from the real life... hehe. But our money doesn't stop us from being petulant. You'd think it might, I mean we can buy happiness many times over, but we'll still find cultural things to whine about. Like the popularity of two hit gay-themed shows. We're sick of gay because of Will & Grace and Queer Eye For The Straight Guy. There shouldn't be any hit gay shows, let alone two. It makes us whine that's why we included gay-bashing humor in Team America, because we're sick of gay, waaaaaaa.

it was the classic `unsafe at any speed' accident. we did a sharp corner and the rear end `hopped'. when he compensated, we went out of control...we would have been fine if he hadn't steered to compensate...anyway, the tree ended up shoving the dash board about a half foot!
I was in the passenger seat and woke up in the hospital.

GOP in danger of losing control of Congress, Gingrich says
WASHINGTON - A dozen years after he engineered his party's takeover of Congress, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warned Friday that his fellow Republicans could be swept out of power themselves.
"They are seen by the country as being in charge of a government that can't function," he told Knight Ridder editors and reporters in a wide-ranging luncheon interview. "We could lose control this fall."
He cited a series of blunders under Republican rule, from failures in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to mismanagement of the war in Iraq. He said the immigration bill passed by his former colleagues in the House of Representatives is unrealistic and too harsh toward undocumented immigrants, called congressional efforts to regulate lobbying "much too weak" and said the government has squandered billions of dollars in Iraq.
Long known as a provocateur, Gingrich said he was leveling his pointed criticisms to try to shake up his party. "I'm trying to get the government and my party to change this year," he said.

You know that journalist who was kidnapped in Iraq and just released? What a coward.
Yes, Jill Carroll was a coward. Any real journalist would have secretly made knives and ninja throwing stars out of nightly scrapings off the bed, and then they would perch suspended from the ceiling over their door when their guard would come in, and after dropping down and twisting the neck of her guard, she would obviously then bend backward around the corner and fling a bed-scrapings knife into the forehead of the 2nd guard. Then, grabbing two cans of cleaning chemicals she makes a simple explosive, which when placed on the floor over the garage, blows a hole just wide enough for Jill Carroll to dive between a guard's legs and fall through head-first, flipping into the open window of the waiting armoured SUV. Hotwiring the SUV, she ducks below bullets fired in the windshield, and slams it into reverse with her head beneath the steering wheel. The SUV slams through the garage and surprises two guards, both knocked into the ditch by the collision. A high-speed chase through the streets with Arabs in pickups firing after her leads to a narrow alley. Gunning for the alley, the alley narrows to a hole just too narrow for the SUV fenders. At top speed she rams through the narrow opening, which tears off her fenders and bursts stones into a market. Jumping over a small intersection, she slams on the brakes just as two motorcycles round the corner firing at her. They stop and look at her. She looks back at then. They raise their weapons. She glances to the side, and then takes off flooring it toward the river. They gun it and in a cloud of dust spin to follow her. Dodging an old man leading a camel, and then two young children holding a tire, she plunges over the canal's edge. I admit that sometimes I find Parker and Stone funny despite myself, but I found the "killing" of the puppet celebrities in "Team Americia" to be mean-spirited and even shocking that puppets of real people were "killed" in effigy (sp?) simply because the juvenile Parker and Stone don't like their politics.
It seemed dishonest also. If you disagree with someone's politics, or even their style, don't hide behind puppets, crude jokes, and public evasions (Parker and Stone never seem to comer clean on their politics when interviewed). Anyhow, that is my take on that matter.
Anyway, I am new to the site. Can someone explain the "peaches" reference to me?

The Corvair's main danger was the lack of a front engine. So if the car hit a tree, for example, head on. The front would crush in and the hood would detach and slide through the windshield and decapitate the front passengers.

Parker and Stone will slam all sides and claim impartiality because they know if they begin to advocate anything, their stuff will totally suck.
You'd think, though, after piling up a few hundred million apiece, they might dare to allow any glimmer of altruism, of "caring about something", to show through their punk act.
They'll probably wait a few decades, after the syndication/merchandising bonanza begins to slow down and they're too old to be cool anymore before they find their soul . . .

Buckley Says Bush Will Be Judged on Iraq War, Now a `Failure'
March 31 (Bloomberg) -- William F. Buckley Jr., the longtime conservative writer and leader, said George W. Bush's presidency will be judged entirely by the outcome of a war in Iraq that is now a failure.
``Mr. Bush is in the hands of a fortune that will be unremitting on the point of Iraq,'' Buckley said in an interview that will air on Bloomberg Television this weekend. ``If he'd invented the Bill of Rights it wouldn't get him out of his jam.''
Buckley said he doesn't have a formula for getting out of Iraq, though he said ``it's important that we acknowledge in the inner councils of state that it (the war) has failed, so that we should look for opportunities to cope with that failure.''
The 80-year-old Buckley is among a handful of prominent conservatives who are criticizing the war. Asked who is to blame for what he deems a failure, Buckley said, ``the president,'' adding that ``he doesn't hesitate to accept responsibility.''

Panel Calls for Removing N.Y. Judge
ALBANY, N.Y. Mar 31, 2006 (AP)— A state commission has recommended removing a judge who sought donations to his defense fund from lawyers who were trying cases before him.
In the opinion released Friday, the state Commission on Judicial Conduct also scolded Justice Thomas Spargo for giving out $5 gift coupons for gas and coffee and buying drinks for potential voters in a local campaign in 1999.
Spargo will accept the removal rather than appeal to the state's highest court, said his lawyer, E. Stewart Jones Jr.
(snip)
The commission dismissed a complaint about Spargo's work in Florida for George W. Bush during the 2000 presidential election recount, which included participation in a nationally televised demonstration.

Hrm...Now about the question of whose interests are most served by instigating a civil war in Iraq...
US military deaths in Iraq drop as Iraqis targeted
U.S. military deaths declined in the Iraq war for a fifth straight month in March even as insurgent attacks continue unabated with Iraqis increasingly the targets. U.S. military death toll has steadily dropped since reaching 96 last October, the fourth deadliest month of the war.
There were at least 29 U.S. military deaths in March, according to a count of fatalities announced by the military. That would represent the smallest monthly death toll since 20 in February 2004, the lowest of the three-year war.
U.S. officers in Iraq said several factors have contributed to the decline, including that insurgents are now directing their attacks toward civilians and U.S.-trained Iraqi government security forces who are assuming more security responsibilities previously handled by U.S. and allied forces.
Defense analysts said the recent decline in U.S. deaths is not evidence of an overall improving security environment.
