The Ballad of Pat Robertson and Hugo Chavez by Lee P (8-23-2005)

Pat Robertson hopped-up on Jesus juice went on his crappy show

to talk his conservative rhetoric regarding topics he doesn't know

Though Jesus stood for Peace, Pat said the U.S. should assassinate Hugo

with 700 clubs, guns, and bombs, Dear God, Pat is such a joke!

Robertson called Hugo a Commie, but he's probably more popular than Bush

Chavez won the Venezuelan elections, and called Dubya an asshole and a tush !

Oh, the right-wing hates leftists movements, perhaps because they try to help the poor

'cause if South American people can feed themselves, what do they need the 700 club for?

700 clubs, guns and bombs can't stop me

said Chavez, I don't care if you call me a Commie

I got the votes and I've got the oil

so don't try to step on Venezuelan soil!

A War in Afghanistan, a War in Iraq,

to suggest we attack Venezuela now, was Pat smoking crack?

Korea and Iran are both trying to get nukes

but many conservatives are more concerned with gays and Daisy Dukes

Yet gringos still have to power up their big SUVs

saying, "fuck third world nations who spread socialist disease"

though we suck so much oil and threaten their land

then get pissed off if they try to bite our hand

700 clubs, guns and bombs can't stop me

said Chavez, I don't care if you call me a Commie

I got the votes and I've got the oil

so don't try to step on Venezuelan soil!

Who the hell does Robertson think he is

suggesting assassinating people as a TV evangelist?

Pat begs for money in the name of Jesus, though he shits on Islam

and he doesn't like the South American Socialists who supply the oil we drive on

These bullshit Wars for Oil should just fucking stop

but change won't come down from the top

Pat suggested acts of terrorism as the fight drags on

old Pat Robertson, one of our own American Taliban!

700 clubs, guns and bombs can't stop me

said Chavez, I don't care if you call me a Commie

I got the votes and I

The right-wing nuts are attempting to smear those who criticize the war in Iraq by saying we make America unsafe. DO NOT LET THEM START THEIR SMEARING! The majority of Americans disapprove of Bush's quagmire. The peace movement and the courageous Cindy Sheehan are starting to undermine the Bush house of cards. There was no connection between Iraq and 9/11. Bush continues to imply Iraq with 9/11. Bush must be accountable for his lies and raids on the US Treasury.

This past week I watched in horror as the Gestapo Buttfucked Bill and forced him to interview an Anti-American from Monsanto Corporation. The Monsanto Sellout attempted to candy coat why Monsanto poisons Americans more than all Terrorist combined in the history of the World. You could see Bill's soul leave his body during the interview.

SALT LAKE CITY - President George W. Bush defended the war in Iraq on Monday in the face of growing skepticism, asserting that U.S. casualties are rising and his approval rating is falling. Bush urged Americans "remain as stupid as you have been for me so we can continue to shit down your necks and murder your idiot, drop-out, kids."

While the United States has attacked another country , without provocation, Bush said, "We're not yet safe. I have this mandate....political capital! I'm going to continue to use it to attack our country. We must confront threats before they fully materialize and prevent Halliburton from securing their contracted profits."

"The only way to defend our citizens where we live is to go after terrorists within the Administration," Bush said in a speech to the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bush spoke as negotiators in Iraq struggled against a midnight deadline to completely implode and kill each other with primitive weapons while they draft a constitution to present to parliament.

He said it was difficult to compromise. He expressed confidence that negotiators will produce a constitution "that relects the values and traditions of political rivalries and regional disagreements. "So Americans are easily fooled into understanding Iraq's new constitution," he said, as he winked and chuckled.

The president also praised Irael for taking the "courageous and painful step" of removing "all those strange looking little fella's with the funny hats!" He said the move reflected Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon looked "a lot better on camera. That sucka's lost weight," he said, laughing.

"We're helping the Palestinians to prepare for all the new Borders and McDonalds they're gonna get," adding that "the U.S. is giving a shiv in the back to Palestine.

Bush had not left his ranch since Aug. 13. Meanwhile, anti-war protesters camped nearby took the limelight, complete with a Sunday evening concert by folk singer Joan Baez.

Bush later said, "I'm gonna sneak over by the fence tonight, after dark. I liked Joan Baez back in college."

IS BLAIR OFF TO JOIN $30BN WORLD ELITE? HE'S EYEING UP £250K JOB WITH ARMS TRADE LINK FIRM

Exclusive By Rupert Hamer

TONY Blair is expected to join one of the most exclusive groups of businessmen in the world after he leaves Downing Street.

The PM is being lined up for a highly lucrative position with the Carlyle Group - an American-based investment giant with strong links to the White House and the defence industry.

The firm has been nicknamed "The Ex-Presidents Club" because it has had a host of former world leaders on its books including George Bush Senior, his former secretary of state James Baker and former British PM John Major. There a also a large number of former US Army top brass.

Mr Blair has been keeping quiet about his plans after his departure from Number 10 - which could be as early as 2007 according to some Labour insiders.

Posted by: Imhotep at August 23, 2005 7:23 PM

I think the whole ID thing stems from the mistaken belief that liberals "run" the intellectual community of the U.S. and that we inculcate the students we get to BE liberal left leaning "moonbats". Thus ID, thus the attempts to kill off independent thought on the parts of professors, the whole Campus Conservative movement is based on it.

What these people don't get is that a solid education reveals certain truths about the world to a person that generally leads them to an enlightened outlook.... they become liberal because it makes SENSE.

I'm only using half of my available bandwidth on the stream.

I'm not quite sure...but I have problems with my firewall.

For some reason...and this was discussed in a Microsoft bulletin...for some reason it calls home after installation. Since it's been over one year since I bought the software, they want to shake me down.

It calls home now...without anyway to stop it.

Then somehow Windows starts calling itself...which a patch was supposed to address...which wasn't in SP2...

...and I don't know. Everything seems to be different since the February/March updates too.

So I don't know.

I quit my cable. This little DoS feature thing has been going on for a year, but I didn't notice it until I quit time warner.

It's a combination of at least three companies, so streaming while blogging is out of the question.

My stream is way too unreliable as well.

So it's pretty much move to a city like Youngstown, that broadcasts I guess.

I'm not going to worry about it too much.

It sounds to me like Janeane isn't pissed at me...which is good (call me skeptical, but I'm used to her yelling I suppose)...and Sam said "peer review"...which hints at some things I mentioned in the blog. All pretty cool in my book, but I've got other things to do, darling.

So if you excuse me...I'm outta here. Bye.

p.s. Don't forget Wes Craven said "coffee budget" on late night.

We have a war profiteering executive branch making money off of an illegal war and some idiots are so asleep at the wheel that they still think 9/11 and Iraq are connected.
The correct response to this is you scream "You're so effing stupid you're not worth talking to!" the same way that people should just be calling Bush on his lies, each and every time.
These people are relentless liers and usless you relentlessly call them on it they'll just keep doing it.

Terror From the Right
Almost 60 terrorist plots uncovered in the U.S.
By Andrew Blejwas, Anthony Griggs and Mark Potok

Ten years after the Oklahoma City bombing left 168 people dead, the guardians of American national security seem to have decided that the domestic radical right does not pose a substantial threat to U.S. citizens.
A draft internal document from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that was obtained this spring by The Congressional Quarterly lists the only serious domestic terrorist threats as radical animal rights and environmental groups like the Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front. But for all the property damage they have wreaked, eco-radicals have killed no one — something that most definitely cannot be said of the white supremacists and others who people the American radical right.

In the 10 years since the April 19, 1995, bombing in Oklahoma City, in fact, the radical right has produced some 60 terrorist plots. These have included plans to bomb or burn government buildings, banks, refineries, utilities, clinics, synagogues, mosques, memorials and bridges; to assassinate police officers, judges, politicians, civil rights figures and others; to rob banks, armored cars and other criminals; and to amass illegal machine guns, missiles, explosives, and biological and chemical weapons. What follows is a list of key right-wing plots of the last 10 years.

Since our conciousness is oriented on limits and the infinite is without limits, we can never know "en toto" but rather only in a continuing "linier" sense of some limited differentiation.

I'll still call Nora cute, though.

I hate the Bible. Its wrong, it lies and has precious little either true or wise in it.

The "God" of the bible starts out as a Hebrew Sky god and ends up that a Man is God.. Totally confusing and stupid. Written by flawed men with a point of view, an ax to grind and completely uninspired. The best parts were deleted and only recently been recovered in the Gnostic Gospels.

In the Gnostic Gospels Jesus has sex with Mary Magdeline. In the Gnostic Gospels, Jesus is conflicted and emotional and real.

The King James version of the Bible should really be burned.

Playing at Peace

Limited pullout won't bring Israel lasting peace.

Dateline: Monday, August 22, 2005

by Linda McQuaig

Last week's dramatic scenes from Gaza filled TV screens around the world with images of Israel getting tough with Jewish settlers.

The message seemed clear: Israel is willing to make great sacrifices in order to win peace with the Palestinians, including forcing its own people to leave their homes.

So after months of international criticism over its construction of a wall that cuts deeply into Palestinian territory, Israel — and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon — managed to win some very favourable press coverage last week.

[Their message is:] If you think removing 8500 settlers from Gaza is difficult, you can forget about any plans for removing 400 000 Jewish settlers from the West Bank.

Let's not forget the settlements were illegal under international law, and should not have been built in the first place. Still, if the Gaza pullout is the beginning of a complete Israeli withdrawal from all the territories it has occupied for 38 years, then this is certainly a positive move.

It seems more likely, however, that this withdrawal is a one-shot deal. If so, it is of little value. Worse, it could be a cynical attempt to reduce pressure for further withdrawals.

The truth is that, while painful for some individuals, the withdrawal from Gaza isn't much of a sacrifice for Israel. The security cost of protecting 8500 Jewish settlers living amid 1.3 million hostile Palestinians was enormous. Besides, Gaza is mostly a barren wasteland with little historical value for Israel.

The real prize from Israel's point of view isn't Gaza, but the occupied territories of the West Bank — particularly Jerusalem — which abound in sites of historical and religious significance for Jews (as well as Muslims and Christians) and which offer significant resources, particularly water.

The question is: Having pulled out of Gaza, will Israel now be in a stronger position to resist international pressure to withdraw from these precious territories, which Israeli officials refer to by their Biblical names, Judea

With all the criticism we've hear about the corporate media. With all the misinformation they have spread that has been shown to be fantasy...the corporate media seems to be getting even more irresponsible.

It's an endless deluge. It is begining to seem like truth and reality CAN be overwhelmed and rendered irrelevant simply by the volume of the false information we are continually attacked with.

“WARNING: You Are Under Martial Law”

The title of this article is what the notice read on the morning of May 4, 1970 – it sat largely unread in the mail boxes of Kent State University students. Later that day, four students were murdered when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on a hillside filled with students – some protesting, some watching, others merely changing classes.

Poll finds regular worshipers more supportive of war in Iraq

NEW YORK A new poll finds that the more often Americans go to church, the more supportive they are of U-S foreign policy, including the war in Iraq.

The poll by Public Agenda finds that people who frequently attend worship services are far more likely to support the war on terror and believe that the U-S is achieving its objectives in Iraq.

Americans who never attend worship services are much more likely to believe that the war is damaging international relations and is costing too much in money and casualties.

Public Agenda's Michael Remaley (reh-MAL'-ee) says the poll reflects evangelical Christians' greater tendency to view the world in terms of good and evil, and their support for President Bush.

(The love of money is the root of all evil as opposed to the love of God who is the root of all good. Corporate profiteers fit that definition of loving profits over everything else. It's not money itself because money could be used to build, invent, innovate and share, or used to greedily, lustfully horde, blackmail others and destroy corporate competitors and nations' economies like Iraq's and Afghanistan's, even our own but more slowly.)

Oklahoma man held before boarding plane with bomb
August 11, 2005
OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - An Oklahoma man was taken into custody after he tried to carry a bomb on board an airplane on Wednesday in Oklahoma City, an FBI spokesman said.

Charles Alfred Dreyling Jr., 24, was detained on Wednesday morning after a security screener using an X-ray machine saw the device in his luggage as he tried to board a flight to Philadelphia at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City.

"Although the investigation is in its initial stages we have found no apparent connection to any type of terrorist activity or group," FBI spokesman Gary Johnson said.

Johnson said the screener saw an "improvised explosive device" in Dreyling's carry-on luggage.
A woman answering the phone at Dreyling's home on Wednesday night declined to discuss the matter.
Johnson said Dreyling would be charged in federal court on Thursday with possession of an explosive device at an airport.
Dreyling's landlord, former Oklahoma City Mayor Kirk Humphreys, said he had created a "glorified firecracker" and forgot it was in his luggage.

Venezuela Slams Robertson Over Remarks

By CHRISTOPHER TOOTHAKER

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela's vice president accused religious broadcaster Pat Robertson on Tuesday of making ``terrorist statements'' by suggesting that American agents assassinate President Hugo Chavez.

Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel said Venezuela was studying its legal options, adding that how Washington responds to Robertson's comments would put its anti-terrorism policy to the test.

``The ball is in the U.S. court, after this criminal statement by a citizen of that country,'' Rangel told reporters. ``It's huge hypocrisy to maintain this discourse against terrorism and at the same time, in the heart of that country, there are entirely terrorist statements like those.''

The State Department distanced itself from Robertson's comments.

``We do not share his view, and his comments are inappropriate,'' spokesman Sean McCormack said.

There was no immediate comment from Chavez, who was winding up an official visit to Cuba on Tuesday. Scores of journalists awaited Chavez at the airport, where he was to board a plane for a trip to Jamaica to discuss a Venezuela initiative to supply petroleum to Caribbean countries under favorable financial terms.

On Monday, Robertson said on the Christian Broadcast Network's ``The 700 Club'': ``We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability.''

``We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator,'' he continued. ``It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with.''

Chavez has emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of President Bush, accusing the United States of conspiring to topple his government and possibly backing plots to assassinate him. U.S. officials have called the accusations ridiculous.

``You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it,'' Robertson said. ``It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop.'' <

"Warning: You Are Under Martial Law"

Violent Echoes of Kent State

By KAREN KILROY

Whether or not you are old enough to remember the tragedy at Kent State , please pay attention to this history. As we head into the age of aggressive protests, the police response is becoming more violent, such as in Saturday's actions in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Salt Lake City, Utah.

In Pittsburgh, protestors marched the wrong way up a one way street to close down an army recruiting office. Police used both tear gas and tasers to subdue the protestors, and one 68-year-old woman was even bitten by a police dog she was also arrested. In Salt Lake City, a crowd of 1,500 was tear gassed from helicopters.

Two extra US battalions to Iraq

THE Pentagon plans to deploy two additional battalions to Iraq amid rising insurgent attacks ahead of an anticipated referendum on a constitution, US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said today.

Mr Rumsfeld expressed confidence that public support for the war effort in Iraq will hold despite polls showing growing disenchantment in the United States.

"I think it'll have the support of the American people, and it will be sustained, and we will be successful," he said.

TV preacher and Republican fascist Pat Robertson’s call for the killing of a foreign leader is chilling.

During his “700 Club” broadcast Aug. 22, Robertson lit into President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela as an American enemy that needed to be done away with.

“You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he [Chavez] thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it,” Robertson told his audience. “It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. No, seriously, evolutionary theory does NOT say we descend from apes, no matter what the intelligent designers might have you believe. It says we share a common ancestor with the ape. Different branch, same tree, basically.

You have to pick your fights I guess. She didn't want to punk up to her employers. Makes sense to me. Survival CAN be more important than morality. OTOH if you don't speak up, you'll NEVER get what you want.

Give an inch and they take a mile...It's odd seeing all these "new" nicks preaching the line of the vichy dems isn't it?

Dang, this blog is slow, but Janeane is not living in the real world. Get a grip, Janeane. The poor woman you raked over the coals does have reason to fear, unless she's independently wealthy or has a second career up here sleeve. Can't burn your bridges and expect to come out smelling like a rose.

It's not just the bimbo at MSNBC Nora Douchebag)...This morning on Morning Edition Steve Inskeep was giving Senator Pat Leahy the third degree on John Robert's record--insinuating how why would he dare (sic) to question the President's perogative in choosing who he wants to sit on the Supreme Court. Leahy, in good prosecutory style, shot right back that it is constitutional for the senate to advise and consent, and that he has every right to delve into this record. He further said it was not just political, as this bastard is going to be around for a long time.

It just appeared to my ears that Inskeep wanted to sound "tough" by parroting the Right Wing line.

They're everywhere!!

Utah, Texas btw, not Utah state. Or so I heard. Just FYI Janeane.

AARs tech shit is about the worst I've ever seen. Their site always has problems as well as their broadcasts.

The Lord just doesn't seem to turn people into Pillars of Salt anymore.

I think Bush and Pat Robertson should both be turned into Pillars of Shit! Yeah, Bush could be walkin' around his Texas ranch pretending to be cow hearding, then all of a sudden the Lord could just turn him into a pillar of cow shit. The same could happen to Pat Robertson while he's on his crappy show too. It would make for good television, and I bet the 700 Sphincters Club would get more views than it has ever gotten before. Shit, Willis, I might even send them money if Pat Robertson turned into a Pillar of Shit, hahahaha!!!!

Wait a minute... Nora calls the Utah protesters, or any protesters, "EXTREEMISTS?"

I missed that part.

That's not cute Nora. Not even.

Lose my number, honey.

Then we got back to talking about the "Philidelphia experiment and how you could probably really do it,not successfully,I mean accidently melt people into solid objects, metal might make it easier, probably using a magnetic lab like and iron battleship was a bad idea...,which we both agreed you could probably do,maybe, the military believes in it enough to invest money on it,again like Rummy says,"Who know's".

My parents (especially my fascist father) would always tell me to keep quiet and shut up...I used to do this...over the last year or so, I have become more assertive....and I love it....

Jeneane blows another definition. The third definition of boast is "To contain;have". I like her, but when she has too many Red Bulls, she blows a lot of stuff.
